These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of professional cleaning services by Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning to its customers in the United Kingdom. By booking or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Customer means any individual, business, or organisation that requests or receives services from Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning.
Services means any carpet, upholstery, rug, or other cleaning and related services supplied by Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning.
Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
Agreement means the contract between Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning and the Customer consisting of these Terms and Conditions and the confirmed booking details.
2. Scope of Services
Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning supplies domestic and commercial cleaning services, including but not limited to carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, stain treatment, and related services. The precise scope of work will be agreed at the time of booking, based on information provided by the Customer about the Premises and the areas or items to be cleaned.
Any descriptions of Services, photographs, or examples of results are for illustrative purposes only. Actual outcomes may vary depending on the condition, age, material, and prior treatment of carpets, rugs, and upholstery.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings may be requested through our online enquiry forms or other communication channels as made available by Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning from time to time.
3.2 The Customer must provide accurate and complete information when making a booking, including property type, approximate room sizes or number of items, access details, parking availability, and any known issues such as heavy staining, pet damage, or water damage.
3.3 Any quotation provided before inspection is an estimate only, based on the information supplied by the Customer. Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to amend the quotation if the actual condition or size of the areas to be cleaned differs from that described.
3.4 A booking is only confirmed when Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning has accepted the request, confirmed the date and time of the appointment, and, where applicable, received any required deposit or prepayment.
3.5 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that an authorised person is available at the Premises at the agreed time to grant access and discuss any specific requirements.
4. Access, Parking, and Health and Safety
4.1 The Customer must provide safe, reasonable access to the Premises, including any necessary keys, codes, or entry instructions. Any delays caused by access issues may result in reduced service time or additional charges.
4.2 The Customer is responsible for arranging suitable parking for the cleaning vehicle, wherever possible adjacent to or reasonably close to the Premises. Any parking charges, permits, or fines incurred as a result of inaccurate information or restrictions not notified in advance may be charged to the Customer.
4.3 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to refuse or suspend Services where health and safety standards cannot be met, including where the Premises present hazards such as infestations, structural instability, exposed wiring, or aggressive behaviour.
5. Customer Obligations Before Cleaning
5.1 The Customer must remove small items, personal belongings, fragile objects, and valuables from the areas to be cleaned before the arrival of the cleaning technicians.
5.2 Heavy furniture may be moved at the discretion of the technician where it is safe and practical to do so. However, Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning is under no obligation to move large or delicate items such as pianos, large display cabinets, electrical appliances, or items fixed to walls or floors.
5.3 The Customer must inform Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning of any known defects, loose fittings, pre-existing damage, colour instability, or previous cleaning treatments that might affect the outcome or increase the risk of damage.
5.4 Power and water supply must be available at the Premises for the duration of the visit unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Prices and Payment Terms
6.1 Prices are normally quoted per room, per area, or per item, depending on the nature of the Services. All prices will be communicated to the Customer before the booking is confirmed.
6.2 Unless otherwise stated, all prices are inclusive of any applicable taxes in the United Kingdom.
6.3 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning may require a deposit or full prepayment to secure a booking. Any such requirement will be communicated at the time of booking.
6.4 The balance of any fees due is payable on completion of the Services, unless alternative credit terms are agreed in advance for business Customers.
6.5 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning accepts commonly used methods of payment in the United Kingdom, which may include cashless options or bank transfers. Details of accepted payment methods will be provided during the booking process or before the appointment.
6.6 If payment is not received when due, Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate and to recover any reasonable costs associated with debt collection.
7. Cancellations and Amendments
7.1 The Customer may cancel or amend a booking by giving notice to Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning.
7.2 Where the Customer cancels with more than 48 hours notice before the scheduled appointment, any deposit paid may be refundable or transferable at the discretion of Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning.
7.3 Where the Customer cancels with less than 48 hours notice, Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning may retain part or all of the deposit, or charge a cancellation fee reflecting the time reserved and any administrative costs.
7.4 Same-day cancellations or failure to provide access to the Premises at the agreed time may be charged at up to 100 percent of the quoted service price.
7.5 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to reschedule or cancel an appointment due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including adverse weather, illness, equipment failure, or other operational issues. In such cases, Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning will offer the Customer the next available appointment and any deposit will be transferred to the rearranged booking.
8. Service Standards and Limitations
8.1 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning will provide the Services with reasonable skill and care, using methods and products appropriate to the material type and the information supplied by the Customer.
8.2 While every effort is made to remove or reduce stains, odours, and marks, no guarantee can be given that any particular stain or odour will be fully eliminated. Some staining or damage may be permanent and may not respond to cleaning processes.
8.3 Drying times may vary according to material type, ventilation, temperature, and humidity. Any indications of drying times are estimates only.
8.4 The Customer is responsible for following any aftercare instructions provided, including advice on walking on freshly cleaned carpets, moving furniture back into place, or ventilating rooms.
9. Liability and Damage
9.1 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning maintains appropriate insurance for the Services it provides. Details may be made available upon request.
9.2 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning will not be liable for:
(a) Any pre-existing damage, wear, fading, or defects that become more visible after cleaning.
(b) Colour loss or damage where fabrics or materials are not colourfast, or where the Customer has failed to disclose previous cleaning treatments or the use of inappropriate products.
(c) Damage resulting from structural or installation faults, including loose or poorly fitted carpets, damaged seams, or unstable furniture.
(d) Any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity.
9.3 If Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning causes damage to property or items through proven negligence, its liability will be limited, at its option, to repairing the damage, replacing the damaged item with one of similar age and condition (where reasonably available), or paying fair compensation, taking into account depreciation and wear.
9.4 The total liability of Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning under or in connection with any Agreement shall not exceed the total amount paid or payable by the Customer for the Services giving rise to the claim.
10. Claims and Complaints
10.1 Any complaint or concern regarding the Services must be reported to Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning as soon as reasonably practicable and, in any event, within 48 hours of completion of the work.
10.2 The Customer must allow Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning a reasonable opportunity to inspect the work and, where appropriate, to re-clean or remedy any issue. Refusal to allow a re-visit may limit any entitlement to a refund or compensation.
10.3 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning will investigate all complaints promptly and aims to reach a fair resolution. Where a complaint is upheld, Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning may, at its discretion, offer re-cleaning, a partial refund, or another form of reasonable remedy.
11. Waste Handling and Environmental Compliance
11.1 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning will handle and dispose of any waste generated in the course of providing the Services in accordance with applicable waste and environmental regulations in the United Kingdom.
11.2 Routine waste arising directly from the cleaning process, such as used cleaning solutions, soiling extracted from carpets, and disposable materials used by the technicians, will be managed in compliance with relevant regulations and industry practice.
11.3 The Customer is responsible for the removal and lawful disposal of any bulk waste, rubbish, or hazardous materials present at the Premises prior to the commencement of the Services, unless an alternative arrangement for such removal has been expressly agreed in writing.
11.4 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning is not authorised to handle or dispose of certain categories of controlled or hazardous waste. Where such materials are present, the Customer must engage a suitably licensed waste carrier or contractor for their removal.
12. Customer Data and Privacy
12.1 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning collects and processes personal information about Customers for the purposes of managing bookings, providing Services, handling payments, and dealing with enquiries and complaints.
12.2 Customer information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the United Kingdom. Information will not be sold to third parties and will only be shared where necessary for the operation of the Services, compliance with legal obligations, or with the Customer's consent.
13. Force Majeure
13.1 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure results from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, flooding, fire, industrial disputes, power outages, or public transport disruptions.
13.2 In such circumstances, Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning may suspend the Services for the duration of the event and rearrange the appointment as soon as reasonably practicable.
14. Amendments to These Terms
14.1 Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to that particular Agreement.
14.2 Any material changes to these Terms and Conditions may be notified on our website or by other reasonable means.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
15.1 These Terms and Conditions and any Agreement between Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning and the Customer shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
15.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of the Services.
16. General Provisions
16.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
16.2 No failure or delay by Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of that right or remedy.
16.3 The Customer may not assign or transfer any of their rights or obligations under an Agreement without the prior written consent of Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning. Bermondsey Carpet Cleaning may assign or subcontract its rights and obligations where reasonably necessary for the performance of the Services.
16.4 These Terms and Conditions, together with any written booking confirmation or service schedule, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede any prior discussions or representations relating to the Services.
